Signs is pleased to offer a variety of tools to assist interpreters and their employers in seeking efficient and effective ways to provide professional development. In this vein, Signs offers: 

H.R. (Professional) Development
Activities provided in a variety of formats to meet the unique and individual need of each interpreter and school district. For more information on this service, email us at wwworkshops@signs-of-development.org.

Consultation
Assistance in every aspect of the process of employing a Sign Language interpreter including recruiting, interviewing, skills assessment, job description development, career development and annual review performance planning. Email lynne@signs-of-development.org to find out more about Signs' consultative services.

Diagnostic Assessment
In-depth feedback reports to interpreters identifying patterns in the work and recommending training strategies. Follow-up diagnostic assessments are available to evaluate work on previous patterns and to assist in identifying new areas in which to focus. Interpreting
Quality interpreting services provided by veteran interpreter with experience in most areas including: legal, medical, business, information technology, mental health, etc. Email us at interpreting@signs-of-development.org to obtain a referral to a qualified interpreter in the US.

Mentoring
Assistance with developing students of interpreting and those interpreters soliciting feedback from a colleague and peer.

Signs has available:
Study groups to assist in preparation of interpreting tests (both written and performance interpreting and transliterating tests) for RID, EIPA, state assessments, etc. We also have mentors available to prepare Deaf interpreters for the CDI and our study group for the written test qualifies for the credits needed to sit for the CDI written test (8 hours of ethical coursework and 8 hours of coursework on deaf interpreting.) CEUs are also available for individual states and for ASLTA credit.
