Recommended hardware/software:
  • Apple Macintosh 800 MHz G4 with 256 Meg RAM
    or
  • Pentium III 1.0 GHz with 256 Meg RAM running Windows 98, ME, 2000, or XP
  • Netscape Navigator 4.5 or Internet Explorer 5.0
  • QuickTime 4.0 or later
If you have the software above but don't know what version it is, there's an easy way to determine it. On the upper menu of the program that's running, simply click Help then About to see the version number. If you need to get the software from the Internet, it can be a time consuming process, but remember it is a one time download. Once you've done it, it's installed and you don't have to worry about it again.

Here are links for the software. Note that all of this software is completely free and you must be on-line at the time you want to download it. Clicking on the links below will take you directly to the download / install page of the specified software.

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0
  • Apple QuickTime 6.0. Please note that this is an Apple Computer product that is designed for and runs very well on PCs. There is a retail version on that page that edits video also, but the free version is there and plays the videos perfectly. There's also a current version of QuickTime for the Macintosh.
    Remember that the current version of QuickTime for PCs is included free of charge on all Signs of Development CDs.
Normally, all of this software will install itself while you're on line. Don't try to run any other programs while the download is taking place.

It is recommended that you reboot your computer after installation of any of the above software.
