Pam Morris
M.Ed., IC/TC

A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Pam attended the University of Cincinnati where she was introduced to the Deaf community. Although she was a full time teacher, she was drawn by the Deaf Community's unique qualities and beautiful language. Pam began interpreting for a grassroots organization in Dayton, Ohio and in Cleveland, Ohio. With few interpreter training programs available her "training" was developed by being involved with members of the Deaf Community and attending workshops of local RID.

In 1983, she was awarded national certification. In 1984, she received my Master's degree from Western Maryland College. Thus, her interpreting career began and has continued to this day.

Since that time, Pam has been a free lance interpreter and teacher of Deaf children . Most recently she has worked for the state of North Carolina as a consultant to interpreters in public schools and a trainer of educational interpreters. She is presently living in Charlotte, North Carolina and working as an interpreter educator at Central Piedmont Community College.
