
Lynne graduated from S.W. Collegiate Institute for the Deaf which she claims is one of her most prized experiences. Her previous work experience involves the development, establishment, and administration of two interpreter assessment processes (one for community interpreters and the other for educational interpreters) for the state of NC. She has also been involved in program development and consultation for small to mid-size interpreter referral agencies as well as consulting with interpreters in private practice assisting them with business practices. She has written a business practices manual for interpreters "It's a Matter of $'s & $ense" with an accompanying disk containing forms and information specifically for interpreters.
Lynne is the founder of Signs of Development, LLC, an internationally-known professional development organization specializing in providing technical assistance, consultation, mentoring, and training to Sign Language interpreters, educators, mentors, students, parents, and the Deaf community with an emphasis on CD Rom and distance professional development activities-WWWorkshops. Ms. Eighinger is currently a member of the CIT Communications Committee and the RID Technology committee as well as past Chair of the Conference of Interpreter Trainer's Professional Development Committee and RID Bylaws Committee. She is a graduate of the University of Colorado's Master Mentor Program and is currently an instructor in the program as well as an Adjunct Faculty for the Spartanburg Technical College's Online Interpreter Training Program, and currently attending law school. She has an undergraduate degree in Organizational Leadership and an MBA from the John A. Simon School of Business, Maryville University and possesses interpreter certifications from RID (CI/CT & SC:L), NC, MO, and TX Court Interpreter Certification.
