Court Interpreter Ethical Decision-Making $75 0.8 Gain a deeper understanding of making ethical decisions in the context of court and legal settings. This module is good for .8 CEUs (8 hours) of RID and BEI CEUs. 31 days are given to complete this Study Group.

Performance Test Study Groups - (EIPA & NIC - including CDI, SC:L)

To earn CEUs or certificate of completion for any ISM, members must comply with posting requirements the entire time. No partial credit is allowed, and no refunds are given for registration or CEU costs.

NIC & EIPA Performance Test ISMs

These modules are developed to prepare participants for performance tests and skill development. These modules will focus on discrete aspects of the interpreting process with a special emphasis on Prosodic Features. The EIPA module is for interpreters in education preparing for the EIPA, or for any interpreter preparing for QA, state or NIC performance testing.

Educational Objectives

At the completion of this study course, participants will:

One skill (interpreting or transliterating) - $150 (+ $60 for 2.0 CEUs or certificate of completion)
Two skills (interpreting AND transliterating) - $275 (+ $60 for 4.0 CEU or certificate of completion)
All Three skills (ASL, PSE, MCE) - $400 (+ $60 for 7.2 CEUs or certificates of completion if needed)

You do not have to sign on and participate at any specific time, it is always at your convenience.

Written Test ISM - CDI, NIC, & State Certification

$150 (+ $60 for 2.4 CEUs or certificate of completion if needed). This ISM provides a comprehensive overview of the knowledge required of interpreters and prepares interpreters for written tests of knowledge on interpreting. Deaf interpreters can earn the credit required to apply for the CDI written test: 8 hours of DI training and 8 hours of ethical training.

Description: This ISM is developed to prepare participants for the NIC generalist and CDI written tests of knowledge.

Educational Objectives: At the completion of this module, participants will:

NIC Generalist & CDI module qualifies Deaf people for their 16 hours of required credit to sit for the CDI written test - the written test ISM provides 8 hours of ethical training and 8 hours of deaf interpreter role and function training. In order to obtain the certificates of completion to submit to RID, you must successfully complete the entire course and the $60 for the continuing education certificates.

EIPA Written Test Study Group

$150 (+ $60 for 2.4 CEUs or certificate of completion if needed).

Description: This ISM will assist educational interpreters to prepare for the EIPA Written Test. The discussions will encompass a comprehensive overview of the information that is critical to the success of interpreters working in education including:

NIC Interview Preparation ISM - Ethical Decision-Making

Description: This ISM is to assist candidates in preparing for the NIC Interview portion of the certification process. Participants will be provided a structured way to analyze and respond to ethical situations and will discuss actual ethical situations provided, as well as their own from previous experience.

Educational Objectives: At the conclusion of this ISM, participants will be able to:

Court & Legal Interpreting - Ethical Decision-Making

This ISM has been established to allow for study to gain a deeper understanding of making ethical decisions in the context of court and legal settings. This ISM will provide a structured way to analyze and respond to ethical situations and will discuss a variety of actual ethically challenging situations as well as their own from previous experience.
This ISM is good for .8 CEUs (8 hours) of RID and BEI CEUs. In order to complete this ISM, you'll need to complete all of the requirements within a 31-day and not less than an 8-hour period.
