Signs of Development Signs of Development Individual Study Modules ACET RID, Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf

About the Developer, Lynne Wiesman:

A little about me, the developer of these modules ~ I have been interpreting over 20 years and possess:

In the past I also had NC Class A (highest level) and MO Level 5 (highest level), though those have expired since I no longer live in those states.

I am able to bring a lot of experience in test development and test taking to the Individual Study Modules, having worked in community, post-secondary, k-12, rehabilitation, and many other interpreting venues. I also was responsible for developing and administering two state tests in NC to test educational and community- based interpreters. Holding an MBA, completion of my first year of law school, and currently ABD for my Ph.D. in Training & Performance Outcomes, have taught me many skills in testing and approaching multiple choice tests…. Like the one you may be preparing to take!

Finally, I was a student in the first cohort of the Master Mentor program, an 18 month graduate program to train mentors, and taught in the program the final three years of the grant. This allows me to bring extensive formal education in mentoring.

As the founder and owner of Signs of Development, I am passionate about professional development for interpreters!!! I have mentored over 1000 people in the past 7 years and it's what I most like to do. Having taught online business classes for DeVry for several years has given me a great deal of experience in online education, having been on both sides (student and educator) of the online learning experience!

From 2009 to 2011, I was the Director of the Interpreter Education Program at Troy University in Troy, Alabama. This is an on-site and on-line Bachelor Degree program that's like no other! See more information about this program here: http://troy.troy.edu/education/itpindex.html
